size 8 knitting needles for squares or fish blocks
yarn+needles to make new squares
instructions for mattress stitch (we'll help)
scissors or snippers

snack to share or a whole picnic
blanket to sit on, or a folding chair if you prefer
a fleece or jacket to keep you warm
